Exhibition to showcase new gold jewellery

A new range of gold jewellery is being launched in Pakistan.

According to The News, a number of 22-c pieces have been produced by the wife of a politician in the country.

Kausar Humayun Akhtar has designed the accessories with formal occasions in mind and they are set to go on display for two days, with previous work having been exhibited in the US as well as in Pakistan.

"My designs are wearable and also have a decorative value. To me, jewellery is a fine art that produces such rare work which is both timeless and of-the-moment," she was quoted as saying.

Among the items in the collection are earrings, bracelets and necklaces, while the work has recently been extended to include bridal accessories.

Last week, Gladstone Jewellers revealed that its designs - previously only available from its London boutique - are to be supplied to a number of luxury jewellery stores.
